21 Sep, 2008 in Taiwan

Probably among the most relaxing things to watch.

This is from my trip to the east coast, near Chishang – famous for its quality rice. Absolutely gorgeous.  I love the endless rice fields in Taiwan’s country side, laid out in stunning valley scenery between tall mountains.

I have no idea what my English sounds like, it might be terrible. Yet, I’d like to quickly point out something in common for some of the non-native in English, especially teachers, that sometimes makes it very difficult for me to concentrate listening. Interestingly enough, some of those issues also hold true for some Israelis [...]

19 Sep, 2008 in Taiwan

The typhoon’s here, and although Tainan somehow manages to escape all major weather annoyances of the island, there’s still a lot of rain that makes it a bit more difficult for the Taiwanese to express their inner selves with artistic BBQing.
But, not to worry, if we can’t do it outdoors, we’ll BBQ it indoors… in [...]

I was attempting to promote more cultural understanding and sensitivity in media reporting and highlight some of the [...]

As part of the visit of Technion president to NCKU, we were invited for a presentation of a new project currently being developed in NCKU, combining Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design and Creative Design of professors from the Tainan area universities, led by NCKU.
I got permission to take a few videos and post them here. They [...]

14 Sep, 2008 in Asia-Israel connections, NCKU

I’m the only Israeli student in southern Taiwan, as far as I’m aware, and although it sounds a bit culturally lonely, it does bring up some unique opportunities. During Friday and Saturday I joined the Israeli Technion president, Dr. Yitzhak Apeloig, while he was visiting NCKU with his charming wife – Mrs. Tzippi Apeloig. It [...]
