Always wanted to see the world and never had the time? make the time, because I doubt Shenzhen’s Window of the World will do it for you. If anything, Window of the World can serve as a mediocre reminder of the grandeur and beauty of these places to those who have actually already travelled to these places. In that sense, I was surprised to learn just how many famous places around the world I’ve personally been to. I’d say that I’ve definitely seen more than 50% of the world monuments presented there.

The park hosts cultural shows across the park in short intervals, with dancing, ceremonies, acrobatics, 4D movies and games. Here’s a short video of the East Asian dance show.

The greatest fun in this park, I guess, is to try and recognize the places and check if you’ve been there before or not.

Entrance is 120yuan, although going up the Eiffel tower, taking the monorail or bus, and seeing some of the shows will cost you extra. Open from 09:00 to 22:30. Located at the Overseas Chinese Town, and you can conveniently get there by subway.

What an interesting place. Wouldn't mind visiting there myself. I only wish there had been some people in your pictures to help figure out the scale of these replicas. Great photos!

Thanks, Josh. Yeah, I was kind of aiming for those “damn, what's the scale?” photos. Let me know what you thought of it after you go.

hm, was this where Jia Zhangke's “The World” was shot? It looks a lot like it but I always thought it was somewhere in Beijing….

I’ve been to WoW too when I visited Shenzhen and I wasn’t impressed either. Although I haven’t been to most of the real places shown there, nothing really made an impact on me, mediocre indeed.
