Not quite up to the Taiwan night market standards, Temple Street is probably as close as you’ll get to a bustling night market in Hong Kong.

The location – between Jordan and Yau Ma Tei MTR stations – isn’t my favorite part of Hong Kong, but it so happens that some of my friends like the relatively cheap street food and the local atmosphere of the place.

Not a very attractive shopping option, but you might find some interesting stuff if you really get into it.

For the few tourists that got lost looking for Ladies’ Market, there are the mandatory Communist China souvenirs.

Street shopping aside, most people come for the very popular street food…

Not what I would typically recommend to try out in Hong Kong, but locals seem to be really into it. Notice the cleaning-your-dishes-with-tea China routine that I’m not familiar with from Taiwan but is said to be a must even in reputable restaurants in Hong Kong, as if the warm tea is what’s going to be able to help with the health hazards, if those exist.
