Figurines collectables were the center of attraction, some of the fans queuing up a few days in advance to Anicom HK 2009 to be the first in line to buy some of those.

Following are some of the figurines at the exhibition.

I don’t know who this character is (:$) but he’s extremely popular all over China and was a big star at the exhibition. Very cute.

The transformer flavored figurines were also quite popular. It’s hard to believe the incredibly high price tags for those things.

Honestly, I remember collecting those and buying transformers as a kid.

<FLASHBACK> 6th grade in Toys-R-Us, Topeka, Kansas, walking into a room full of transformers and feeling incredibly happy<END OF FLASHBACK>

Obviously, the whole transforming robot thing has it’s own world in Asia and has been transformed (noticed the word-play?) since the Power Ranger cheap copy and endless Anime-Magna Japanese series incorporating these elements

But you do get all sorts…
