Hong Kong’s Jade Market and Jade Street is located at the area of Tau Ma Tei MTR area, selling all sorts of overpriced polished stones to the keen tourists.

It not all about Jade, you see, but Jade does set the tone for a more jewelry type of merchandize.  Essentially, it’s a market enclosed in two separate buildings, with rows of locals selling their stock.

To make sure you know that you’re in a very touristic place, there are the compulsory complimentary accessories that make us western tourists cry out with joy when we see them.

"Oh my God! look here! it’s Mao’s red guardians little red book!"

"Come here! Mao’s waiving his hand in this CUTE wrist watch! and this lady says it’s only 150HK$!"

If you need something customized or you like to watch your jade being polished in front of you – no problem. Just tell the locals what it is you need.

I’d say the Red side is in a bit of a spot. :)
