There are striking similarities between Hong Kong’s Cheung Chau Island and Thailand’s Koh Phi Phi Don. Compare this…

I know what you’re thinking… okay, so the outline is similar, but how can anything in Hong Kong compare to the beauty of Koh Phi Phi Don? While I agree Koh Phi Phi is one of the most beautiful spots I’ve ever visited, Cheung Chau Island also has alot to offer. I took my little sister for a day of hiking around the island, mostly famous for its annual Bun Festival…
We took the ferry off the Central piers …
Arriving at the island, it was very laid back and chilled-out.
We started off by walking around to the Pak Tei Temple…
I bet at this point, you’re still wondering about the comparison to Thailand. Well, the Cheung Chau Tung Beach is a good start…
After having lunch…
… we went off for the hike through the Mini Great Wall trail with some stunning views and curious rock formation (see if you make out "the head")
Once the two hour hike was over, we spent a few hours doing nothing at the beach. ^_^
Heading back to Central we had ourselves an Egyptian dinner, which is very similar to food we’re both used to from back home (Hummus, Falafel, Cuscus etc.)
By the time we got back we were totally exhausted.
