Right in the middle of the hassle and bustle of Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui lies a pleasant park. During holidays and weekends it’s packed with immigrants and you can hardly find an empty spot to sit down, but during the week it’s quite empty and nice to walk around in.

On my little sister’s second day, we strolled slowly through the park. There were Chinese gardens and ponds…

Across the street is the old British consulate… (if I remember right)

There’s also a highly active mosque for the local Muslim community.

 

Everywhere in the park – groups of people were practicing Gong Fu and Tai Chi.

    Did you know it used to be a British Army barracks? That’s why it has lots of old trees. If not, it would have been built on like the rest of Kowloon, and nobody in Tsim Sha Tsui would be able to breathe!
