The weather was absolutely perfect so we decided to take the Sun Moon Lake 1 hour tour boat and relax a bit with some of the locals (200NT$).
The boat guide rambled on in a mixture of Chinese and Taiwanese about God knows what till we arrive at Syuenguang Temple located around a hundred steps from the boat pier.
The view was nice…
The Chinese Zodiac proved comfortable to seat on…
A meditation group of an organization currently banned in China was practicing and soliciting tourists going up the stairs…
After we arrived back and wrapped the boat adventure, we continued with the car to the best spot on the lake offering some of the most spectacular views on the island – Tsen Pagoda which the beloved Chiang Kai Shek built for his dear mommy. One thing though, there’s almost 800m of stairs to climb to get there…
And when you get there, there’s an additional 800 steps up the Pagoda…
But, damn, is it worth it!
Lots more in the Tsen Pagoda Gallery.
Taiwan is lucky to have such a beautiful lake.
