Elections are coming up in Israel next month, and it’s not looking very good. Ehud Barak and Benjamin Netanyahu are running again, two ex-prime ministers who were kicked out by the Israeli parliament well ahead of intended election time, competing strongly for the title of worst prime-ministers in Israeli history. Polls show Bibi is on a strong lead.
Just wanted to show this Youtube clip from Israel’s number 1 comedy show with a satirical and gloomy overview of the leading Israeli candidates for Prime-Minister and Minister of Defense, including a short anecdote on China/Taiwan:
Shaul Mofaz, the Militarist, has been promoting himself as the right person to answer the emergency call from the military at 3am, laughing at the female candidate Tzipi Livni for lacking the skills and experience.
Here, he waits for the call at a public phone call where a Chinese foreign worker awaits a phone call from China (jump to 1:07).
Phone rings.
Shaul Mofaz grabs the phone.
On the phone : "This is leader, green light on operation, wipe out Damascus, take down the kindergartens in Beirut, take over Teheran, and on the way back don’t forget to bring me two Gondi meals from the Gondi house, and tell them not to hold back on the sauce".
Woman replies in what sounds like Chinese.
On the phone : "Sorry? Hold on a sec "
To Chinese foreign worker : "Can’t you see that I’m on the phone? how rude!"
On the phone : "You want me to say it to you in Chinese?"
He then starts talking Chinese sounding mish-mash but the subtitles read : "Wipe out Taiwan, bomb Beijing, and if there are any Israelis left of the Israeli Olympics delegation, take them down as well. Losers!"
Tzipi Livni, Ehud Barak and Bibi Netanhu follow.
Ai ya.
