This scenic coastal cross island road number 20 is absolutely gorgeous. If you have the time, you should definitely take it, preferably very slowly, and see some of Taiwan’s beautiful natural scenery. I did it for a whole day, stopping in amazing spots, hiking a bit, exploring some paths and natural hot-springs. That whole area is a nature jewel.
I’ll let some of the photos do the talking.
Think this is breathtaking? Taiwan has a few more surprises. Yet more to come…

Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos. Although I have lived in Taiwan since I was born, I seldom travel in Taiwan. I hope I can visit these places one day.
Can I ask one question? I still can’t figure out the Chinese name of “Coastal Cross Island Road 20″. Is this some high-speed road’s name?

yijung – yeah, I messed up the name. Essentially, it’s road number 20 going from Tainan all the way east to Taidong. It gets different names, but the number is what’s important. It’s difficult to miss.
Just take some time off one of those weekends, get a friend, and do it together. Taiwan has some wonderful hidden jewels that I think would even surprise most Taiwanese.

Thanks for additional explanation. I guess its Chinese name is”台20線”, and then I google it. It shows me that it starts from Tainan to Taitung. haha~~ thanks for suggestions. I will ask my friend who can drive a car so I can have the opportunity to see this beautiful scenery!
Before leaving Taiepi to go to college in Tainan, I always think there are nothing I can see outside of Taiepi. However, I was wrong. Taipei is convenient but outside of Taipei is more beautiful.

Yijung – Taipei’s terrific, but so is the rest of Taiwan. Every spot with it’s own special flavor. Rarely do you get to see so many different styles in such a small place. Taiwan’s gorgeous, hope you get the chance to tour around some more…
