This year’s Miss Universe is in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Last year, 2007, it was the Japanese Royi Mori who made us proud (?) and took the Miss Universe 2007 title.

Miss universe 2008
This type of contest appears to be fuzzy logic.
1-It is the promotion of decadent behavior. Most country would not tolerate women to attend church,school,work or to walk in the streets with those kind of dresses. Yet is is tolerated during this carnal parade.This is a contradiction.
2-The cannon of beauty has been Euro centric even when the panelist tries to convey an aura of objectivity. Most often than not the winner in those contest even if she is black tend to fit the European cannon of beauty.
It is difficult to come up with objective criteria to compare the beauty of people from different races.
The women at the 2008 beauty contest that was held in Vietnam are truly outstanding in terms of elegance, beauty and so on. I feel that Miss. Angola, Lesiana Pereira or Miss. USA, Crystle Stewart should have been one of the winner.

Pierre @ 3:54 is right. They all appear to have Western European blood in them. lots of Plastic surgery,too. They all secretly want to be California Beach Girls,it seems. That’s about all America has left: WMD,pop culture, and the envy of the rest of the world.
