Finding an incoming link from Yahoo Answers on a Taiwan related question I searched the website for questions about Taiwan and it turns out Yahoo Answers has some really interesting information and discussions on a number of Taiwan related subjects. It’s not your regular Taiwan cynical Forumosa addicts bunch.
Take this first one that came up – “Do you think Taiwanese girls are sexy?” with the chosen answer – “Hell ya. I married one! The best thing in Taiwan is… its hot. They ride scooters. They have SHORT shorts and SHORT skirts and they generally take care of themselves. ‘Nuff said. If you take care of them, they will take care of you”. 
Compare this to the “Why are Israeli girls so hot?” with “There is not much sexier than a hot woman with a gun.”. Informative answers indeed.
But there are more serious ones. Here are a few good ones:
- What is your advice for the Taiwan government and people so that Taiwan can attract more foreign tourists?
- How can I prove the contention that Taiwan is an overseas territory of the United States?
- Where are the best places in China and Taiwan to meet women?
- The place to meet foreign guys or guys that speak English in Tainan?

Just saw your site – your Israel-Taiwan perspective is very interesting.
I wish you had more lengthly discussion here than just “Informative Answers indeed”, but maybe it’s not your field of expertise.
I find that “Taiwanese girls try to be sexy.”
The “sexy” fashion is definitely influenced from Japan. But there doesn’t seem to be a barrier here between “sexy” “slutty” and “whore-ish” like in the US, or a sense of practicality (heavy winter coat with matching SHORT shorts).
And if no practicality = somewhat stupid

If you were to generalize for the entire population, which would of course be misguided…

SK – thanks for the comment. I was trying to sound sarcastic, but I’ve already noticed sarcasm doesn’t work well with my Taiwanese friends.
I think it’s safe to say that foreigners generally find Taiwanese girls dress extremely traditional, but in a sexy yet not slutty way. If you compare Taiwanese girls to Israeli girls you’ll find that they rarely show off their breasts with a deep cleavage and tend to cover body parts Israeli consider ordinary like belly button and upper ass. Many Taiwanese girls are also much more delicate with their make-up, if they use any, and the accessories are usually gentle rather than show-off.
But that’s just my foreigner observation.

Uh, I don’t think so. Taiwanese girls wear as much make up as vietnamese girls. Not all taiwanese girls are hot. Look at my college UCR. all of them are dinosaurs. T_T

but that is just seriously OFFENSIVE >:]
at least they aren’t exactly showing alot of bare skin, which is what sluts do. Stop being offensive to taiwanese girls, they’re not being slutty, just trying to look nice like every other girl.
They are NOT stupid sluts, leave them alone, and stop critisizing people of what they wear, its their own choice !
