Bringing International and Taiwanese students together : Presentation at NCKU’s English Corner

I don't know who they are, but I like this photo - international and Taiwanese students together A while back I was discussing the issue of how to bridge international and Taiwanese students at NCKU where I’m currently studying. I’ve made some efforts to help make that happen with INCKU and the IIMBA student council websites, but both were receiving very little attention from both the international and the Taiwanese audiences. But, it did receive some attention from the university’s leadership who suggested I work together with university projects to promote this concept. And so I did.

English Corner is part of NCKU’s university EAGLE project effort to raise the Taiwanese students’ level of English, offering a one hour English language native speaker speech regarding various topics. It was suggested that although I’m not a native speaker I’d come and talk to the students and introduce the projects I was involved with.

I honestly wasn’t sure how and what, but two hours before the lecture I sat down and collected a few slides to convey the basic idea, and this is what I came up with:

I do hope Taiwanese and international students get together more. There’s so much that we can give each other…
