9 May, 2008 in Tainan by Fili An

Tropical weather usually doesn’t really allow for an authentic autumn-spring look, but, riding around Tainan city the past month I came across a few beautiful autumn-spring spots.

Next the Tainan City Council:

And in Dong-Fong road, next to the university (by email):

In Tainan… who would have thought?

Beautiful! So do you get four seasons? When I lived in Thailand there were three: Hot, rainy and cool/dry. It was still quite warm during the “cool” season!

Amy - In a way we do, especially up north or on the mountains. More than I expected when I got here, anyways. In the “winter” it does get cold, especially at night, but the rainy season is during the hotter season, so seasons are a bit different.

Those photos are not the “typical” Tainan, and they’re quite difficult to come by here. However, it’s possible to find elsewhere around Taiwan. There’s actually a flower festival going on in Mei-Nong right now with fields full of flowers and color that is quite different than how people usually perceive Tropical weather.

    Taiwan’s just full of surprises.

Lovely colours! I have been away from Taiwan last month and I am just back, here in Taipei I haven’t seen such a thing! I am afraid I missed the colous of the autumn, is it still like this there?
