Touring beautiful Tainan : the Tainan City hot spots tourism guide videos
You just don’t see that many western-tourists around Tainan, although there’s alot to see. Even the internationals leaving in the city rarely take the time to explore around and appreciate some of the history and beauty that’s in this city. Through a website soon to open up, I came across those wonderful touring Tainan videos, probably created by the Tainan City tourism office. It takes you around the main spots of Tainan and shows you some of the magic that surrounds this city.
There are even a few spots here that I haven’t been to yet.

My wife’s from Tainan. There are a lot of awesome places to eat. Not to mention the beautiful temples and parks. I think what’s holding back tourism in Tainan is that the last time I was there there were very few signs in English and the mass transit wasn’t too good. That was back in 2003, so things may have changed.

Things, I’m afraid, haven’t changed in Tainan. Tainan still has a very problematic public transport system and English is almost non-existent.
To those coming I would suggest renting a scooter (100-200NT$ a day) or a car (a bit more) from the back of the train station that will help get around. For information, the Tainan Tourist Information Center just in front of the train station will provide you with enough resources in English.
You and the wife coming back to visit sometime soon?
