The list continues. Here’s more from some of the wonderful pop Mandarin Chinese music I find while staying in Taiwan. First part was “Taiwanese music - Recommended Mandarin Chinese artists from Taiwan“, followed up by “Mandarin Chinese music - More great singers I listen to in Taiwan“, and here are two more (similar names, don’t you think?).

Joi Chua

[or Joi Tsai (Chinese: 蔡淳佳; pinyin: Cài Chúnjiā)]

Joi’s a beautiful Singaporean, that’s very popular in Taiwan. I was introduced to her in my Chinese language school by my Chinese teacher with this next song, which - although simple - shows that this girl has a very deep and special voice. Here’s 陪我看日出 :

By now, most of you have already figured out that my exposure to Chinese and music in Taiwan is mostly through my female Chinese teachers in the language center, which means that they music I listen to is a very concentrated sweet kind of female singers. I’ve already been told that the way I speak Chinese might be more appropriate for a girl.

Jay Chou

[traditional Chinese: 周杰倫; simplified Chinese: 周杰伦; pinyin: Zhōu Jiélún]

Anyway, Wu-Bai’s okay and all, but not quite my cup’pa tea. Since they’ve all been female singers so far, I’ll just go with the obvious Jay Chou. With his latest “Secret” movie and his extraordinary piano playing talents he’s somewhat of a local legend (even though he’s been bad to Jolin… ) :
