Taiwanese TV Drama in Israel : Watch Taiwan’s Devil Beside You in Hebrew

Finally, Taiwanese TV popular culture makes it to Israel, with a wonderful effort in translating the Taiwan TV drama “Devil beside you” into Hebrew(traditional Chinese: 惡魔在身邊, Hebrew : השטן לצידך). The Asian TV drama craze in Israel began while I was still there with the wonderful Korean drama “My Lovely Sam Soon” making it into the Israeli telenovela channel schedule 3 times a day, and it’s great to see that more and more Asian pop-culture gets translated and becomes popular in Israel.

 Devil Beside You is a Taiwanese drama starring Mike He and Rainie Yang. This series is adapted from the Japanese manga Akuma de Sourou, which was written by Mitsuba Takanashi.

Synopsis

After finally getting the courage to confess her feelings, Qi Yue (Rainie Yang) was handing her love letter to Yuan Yi (Kingone), but by a stroke of bad luck, he did not see and walked passed her. The person standing in front of her was the troublemaker of the school, infamously known for his devilish ways – Jiang Meng (Mike He). The devil will get what he wants, and the object of his desire was Qi Yue. Although having a cruel exterior, Ah Meng’s heart is kind and caring, which truly touched Qi Yue. The big problem remained – Ah Meng is the son of the man Qi Yue’s mother is going to marry. Even though they were not related by blood, who will accept this step brother-sister relationship? What is to become of their relationship when other lovers come into the picture?

How you can you watch it in Hebrew? Karnitg prepared a translation, which actually translates from the translated English, but that shouldn’t be too bad (announced on Tapuz). The whole series was uploaded to Veoh with an English translation, so you can actually download the player and watch the whole thing. To watch it in Hebrew, download the episode and the subtitles and play through a player supporting subtitles like BSPlayer (I recommend using it through downloading the full KLite codec pack).
