Taiwanese Israel information resources and a Taiwanese visit to Israel
Every once in a while I find another Taiwanese perspective about Israel showing some of the personal connections the Taiwanese have towards Israel. Surprisingly, I keep meeting Taiwanese that show interest in information about Israel, even here in Tainan, usually due to their Christian beliefs, most of them telling me that they would feel like there’s almost no information available. I agree, but maybe reading-watching other people’s experience might help them them with that, and so, here are some of the Taiwanese-Israeli connections I found so far that offer some information or community regarding Israel in Mandarin/Taiwanese:
- The Taiwanese perspective on Israel : Taiwan’s “World’s Number 1″ visits Israel (Mandarin TV program)
- Ruby - A Taiwanese Blog about Taiwanese life in Israel (Traditional Chinese blog)
- Violet - An Israeli-Taiwanese blog about Taiwan and Israel in Mandarin Chinese (Traditional Chinese blog)
- The Israel Taiwan Friendship Organization : The Taiwan office in Tel-Aviv blog (Traditional Chinese blog)
- The special Israel Taiwan-Tainan connection - The world’s smallest Holocaust museum (Mandarin/Taiwanese/Hakka community)
- Worship of Israel Dance : Kaohsiung and Tainan - Taiwan (Mandarin/Taiwanese community)
- Sababa Pita Bar : An Israeli restaurant in Taipei-Taiwan (Israeli food in Taiwan)
I might have forgotten a few, but now I have another resource to add. This week, I got a presentation from somebody by email about a Taiwanese who recently visited Israel, going to some of the religious highlights around Jerusalem. I can’t follow much of the commentary, but I was told it’s quite interesting, so if you can read Chinese and are interested in Israel, you might want to have a look:
