They’ve been here for a while, most foreigners staying here for more than a few months probably know about them, but they’re still anonymous to most Taiwanese. There are a few foreigners here in Taiwan that do things a bit different, got their own unique style of doing things and having their own little Taiwan corner on the way, showing a different aspect of Taiwanese life that you usually don’t get to see. Let’s do those, say, 2 at a time.

The first one is an oddity I’ve been pondering for a long time. I would be interested in meeting him or attending one of his shows. Growing up in a psychological kind’o surroundings, where hypnosis was often discussed I was fascinated in seeing Brian David Phillips videos, not only because they show extreme hypnosis influences, but because those were achieved even when there’s a strong language barrier. Somehow, Brian seems to work that out and achieve what seems as very deep hypnosis state. He runs the occasional video displaying what he does with Taiwanese students, like this next one :

But, for those not that interested in hypnosis, maybe this next bit from one of his shows, triggering an orgasmic state with a Taiwanese volunteer from the crowd, will be more interesting:

The second one I was introduced to today by The Real Taiwan and is a guy that goes by the name of Mordeth13 in most of the popular video sharing sites. Story has it that he was banned from Youtube for saying something about them. Anyways, this guy rides all over Taiwan on his motor-bike, taking helmet-shot videos while talking about whatever comes to mind. Some of his flicks are absolutely hilarious :

This is a bit more like his typical thing (discussing dance bars and Taiwanese girls in Taiwan) :

There’s a nice way to see Taiwan.

  • Hey Fili,

He was banned because he was going to be be sponsored, ie be given a new helmet cam but was dicked around by the company and said something like that in one of his videos. The company must have complained to Youtube and he was banned. I think that is how the story went...
