5 Jul, 2007 in Israel by Fili An Tags:

In the past month, we’ve been revisiting some of the main tourist attractions in the Jerusalem and central-Israel area. It’s the second time I actually take the time to tour around a little, the first time – “Around Israel in 20 days” – being in mid-summer, and it’s quite remarkable that I discovered some incredible sites in my area that I knew nothing about, especially here in Jerusalem.

Here’s a little taste of what we’ve seen and where we’ve been to:

Jerusalem

City of David – South to Old City Jerusalem

“Where it all began” – City of David (Wikipedia) is a 3,000 years old city where the bible’s King David established his capital. They constantly discover the most amazing things in there and together with the underground water tunnels, this is the #1 place to visit in Jerusalem.

Western Wall Kotel Tunnels

The Western Wall Tunnel  is an underground tunnel exposing the Western Wall in its full length. [...] The tunnel exposes a total length of 500m of the walls, revealing the methods of construction and the various activities in the vicinity of the Temple Mount. (Wikipedia)

The old city – Via Dolorosa

Via Dolorosa (“The road of suffering”) is in the Old City and is where Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion. This road is the holiest of all to the Christian communities as they come here from all over the world to feel closer to Jesus.
