Jewish Mao - Happy passover greeting (Chinese)

To celebrate Christian Easter and the Jewish Passover, here are a few recent interesting articles from the Israeli press related to China :

  1. Channel 10 news with another horrible story of Beijing preparing for the Olympics – “Chinglish“, but at least it’s not entirely their fault – the story is based on a CNN review. (Hebrew)
  2. Israel’s Laisha (“for the woman”) writes about “The Chinese fears, our fears” about the Chinese character meaning for the word “fear”. (Hebrew)
  3. Air China is probably establishing a direct Israel-China flight-link, the first China airline to fly to Israel. Word has it, that China is Israel’s number 2 travel destination for the year 2006. (Hebrew)
  4. While Haaretz is quick to announce that China’s the number one source for malicious code stealing information and passwords with the article “The middle kingdom for information theft“, a closer read of the report actually reveals that “Israel tops the world in rate of malicious Internet activity“, followed by Taiwan. It all depends on what stats you want to focus on. Either way, it warms my heart to see Israel, Taiwan and China setting new world IT standards. (English)
  5. Captain Internet’s “Rice and fun” is a surprisingly decent review of the Chinese Internet and Netizen activity, mentioning Chinese censorship, Sina and even Muzi Mei and the Dormitory Boys. (Hebrew)

Happy holidays.

(Thanks to the lovely Natalie of the Chinese Garden for the extraordinary Jewish Mao masterpiece)

[...] I don’t know. I’m not convinced China has much to do with the current Israeli economy, but it’s interesting to see it mentioned by CNBC in a business review on Israel.  It is a very “in” subject  and you can sense that by reading the daily financial newspapers. There are more China business events, more China related forums, more China related consultants, more China everything.  [...]
