Yeah, I know, I know. I’m disappointed too.
“We” were all hoping for either an Asian or an Israeli Miss World winner…

I could never make out the differences between Miss Universe and Miss World, but it doesn’t matter much does it? In the Miss Universe 2006 post some guy pinged back to my post writing that all the Asian girls looked the same, which was funny because it was exactly the opposite from what I was thinking posting them. I think you can’t really say that about the girls from Miss World, can you?

Just found your blog. I was in Poland and met most of the Asian girls.
It seems that Czech Republic was spotted early on and like most pagaents wasn’t actually necessarily selected by the judges, but rather the organisors.
Shame too that only two girls per region made the semi-final, unlike Miss Universe because proportionately there were a number of girls from Asia who deserved to be in the top 17.
Equally I’d be really interested to know how Viietnam won the Asian global vote and made the last 17?
I am not sure about your China comment. China is called the People’s Republic of China (PRC)?
I was referring to Taiwan (ROC), which wasn’t allowed to participate separately from China (PRC - AKA, the People’s).
