The Chinese Garden, a community for Chinese-related students, has moved to a new home with a completely new redesign.

 The Chinese Garden

About the Chinese Garden :

It had all begun in one of the classes held by Lin, the university's Chinese teacher. It had been autumn 2001 in the first-year Chinese course, comprised of students who came to the Hebrew University in Jerusalem to study East Asian studies. [...]

Why is the site named "The Chinese Garden"? The reason for this is very simple. In Lin's eyes every student is a rare flower. Flowers grant their beauty and fragrance to whoever passes by, without asking "do you want it or not?".

It moved into a new domain, and Ori has done an amazing job of improving the old platform. Improvements include :

  • English support to allow non-Hebrew speaking nationalities to enjoy the Garden. Hopefully, Chinese will be added soon.
  • Advanced forums. Some are in Hebrew, some are in Chinese and they all include a bit of English here and there.
  • Sorted articles and student works. Language labs will allow you to listen while following the Chinese text.
  • Multimedia has a nice collection of Flash Chinese songs with Pinyin/Chinese/Hebrew for fun learning and some Kareoke/KTV.
  • A new gallery for some Chinese culture/travel photos.
