Today, reading through the English Danwei China-related site, I was happy to come across another fellow Israeli - living in China - who runs an active blog called The Wok about all things Chinese.
In the few months that I've been back, I've spent some time trying to find more people like myself who are interested in Asia, and the somewhat sad truth is that there aren't that many to go around.
So, I thought I'd mention the few sites that I do know about which focus on Asian culture, language and experiences from an Israeli perspective. All of those sites are, naturally, in Hebrew, but since it didn't seem to bother Danwei's English-speaking readers, then it might be interesting here as well.

I've mentioned The Gate to China a few times before. It hasn't been updated recently, although I do see Mei11 administrating the Tapuz forum for Chinese Culture (there's also one for Japanese culture). Gate to China provides a good introduction to the Chinese culture - music, movies, media, links, Chinese tips and other great stuff. For an Israeli interested in Chinese culture The Gate to China and the Tapuz forums are great places to start off.
Other blogs provide experiences of Israelis traveling and living in China :
Her Shangrila, writing for Ynet's travel journal, talks about life in Lijiang…
Omiz writes some amusing "stories from the Gutter"…
A new Israeli mother writes about the difficult task of raising a baby in China without knowing a word in Chinese…
Soon to join those, is Ori - my friend, who's leaving for China in a month or so for a year++ of exploring and English teaching.
Finally, the home for those studying Chinese in Israel (especially at the Hebrew University) is the Chinese Garden, which - hopefully - will soon find a new remodelled home at the newly aquired chinese-garden.net.

That's all, I'm afraid. Now you might understand why it's a special occasion finding another blog to join this very humble list. Do let me know if I missed any other Israeli Asian-related websites. I'd be happy to get to know more…

You’re up there (Stories from the Gutter), but you changed your blog title, haven’t you?
Ori’s in China now. You’ve got a better chance to say Hi to him than I have.

Of course I know it’s up there…and YES, I have changed it, and will change it again in the future ! BTW, the previous name before “stories from the gutter” was סין מבט מלמטה , which is, as they say, same same but different…

I suspect that you have not “found” my site. I’ve been in China since 1998. The site is in English and deals in general with the provision of services and solutions for expatriates and for business. Go though and have a look at the two irrigation pages (especially making the desert bloom) and see the Israel connection

Ah, nice. Thanks for the link. Yeah, I’ve heard about a few projects of this type.
(I think some recent comments didn’t survive the hosting transfer. Duibuqi…)

Not sure exactly where you are based or what you do, but I am based in Beijing.
If you have any friends or acquaintances coming this way will be happy to provide local ground support. We speak Ivrit, English, Mandarin and Cantonese and are used to dealing with “new assignees” and first time visitors.
We have uploaded a lot of free information to our website http://www.china-expert.org (in English not Ivrit). Please note, most of the other services that we provide are fee based not free.

Oh, I see. So there are some Israelis already working in your company? (:O). Would you tell a bit of some of the companies you already work with in Israel? (there’s the business forum in Hebrew, I’m sure you know about…).
I know about quite a few Israelis who would love to come and work for you, if you’re hiring.

At present we have no need for extra China based staff.
However, will be happy to hear from anyone who wishes to partner with us or use our services. We provide Services and Solutions for Doing Business in China, with China and for Expatriates.
In 2006 for example, we have sourced numerous products, have established manufacturing base for a client, done market research, provided Destination Services for new assignees and organised 3 large scale events (including a Chinese language and culture fair, and brought a special London West End Musical to Beijing).
I suggest if you want further info you phone me or contact me via e-mail.
Which business forum do you mean? Do you mean the Export Institute?
A Taiwanese Blog on Israel » fiLi’s world

[...] Israeli blogs about Chinese culture and life in China/Taiwan are hard to find, yet what’s even harder to find is a Chinese/Taiwanese blog about Israeli culture and life in Israel. Up till a week ago I haven’t been able to find any blogs at all, and writing an Israeli perspective blog about China/Taiwan I’ve always wondered what such a blog would be like. But ,at last, I’m happy to announce that I finally found one. [...]
Violet - An Israeli blog about Taiwan in Chinese » fiLi’s world

[...] Israeli blogs about Chinese culture are quite rare, Chinese/Taiwanese blogs about Israel are even harder to find, but what I thought I would never find is an Israeli writing about Chinese culture in Chinese. I don’t read that much Chinese and what I do read takes me a very long time and so the chances of me running into a Chinese blog written by an Israeli, should one really exist, was close to none. But, surprisingly enough, I have a few wonderful readers who like to share their findings with me, and so this is how I got the link to next one. [...]
