A view of Taiwan

There's no describing the feeling I get when reading posts and watching photos from Taiwan. I admit I'm totally addicted. Of the wonderful collection of Taiwanese wai4guo2ren2 blogging I saw there are few in particular that I'd like to mention.

Michael Turton

First up, and the obvious one of them all, is Michael Turton's site. Michael has very interesting insights into the Taiwanese everyday happenings and local life, having a wife and kids in Taiwan and teaching at the university. Of all the wonderful stories and information provided, I especially like the family trips posts with the great photos attached, which one of them called "A few scenes from life" was what drove me to write this post. A few other example posts to spice up thing up are - "Lappin' up the miles" and "ChungHua night market". Check out his archives and what is absolutely the best Taiwan personal guide I've seen - "Teaching English in Taiwan".

David on Formosa

Second one, who's Taipei photo I got permission to use as my blog's banner is "David on Formosa". Reading how David's seeing thing around Taiwan is fascinating, and I like watching the photos he's taking, such as in -  "Hiking in Tucheng one and two" and " Travels in Zhonghe and Yonghe".

(Later addition - Oh! and I almost forgot. David's guide to Taiwan is what helped me through my first few weeks in Taiwan, getting settled and deciding to study Chinese).

Another guy I like to keep track of is Todd of "The Daily Bubble Tea", or rather Todd and his girlfriend, as they make such a cute couple. Sweet photos of their Taiwan adventures warm up my heart every time, you just got to take a look…

Although he doesn't write any more, Daniel's Suitcasing is just… well… brilliant. He's funny, he's clever, he's sweet and he's very artistic. I must have read every post that he wrote at least a few times, and have enjoyed mailing links to others discussing some of his observations. His series of articles about the Chinese/Taiwanese culture was extraordinary, and I could only hope that he'll come back to the blogging world some time soon.

So, thanks guys, for helping me remember Taiwan and for sharing your lives and experiences with us all.

Thanks for the kind words. I feel flattered to have my blog mentioned in the company of a couple of much better and widely read ones.

Hey thanks for the mention! I am always surprised everytime I find out that someone outside my family is viewing my blog on a regular basis. Glad you like it!
