It’s no big secret that I’m currently searching for opportunities to head back out of Israel. Let’s just say that it’s on my mind constantly. It’s not that I hate it here, it’s not that everything is bad, it’s just that I’d rather experience something less… eh… familiar.

There are two preferred methods by which that might be achieved:
First option is by pursuing a PhD with a university abroad. That proves to be very problematic now, since all applications and scholarships deadlines for the next academic year have ended a while back (around February-March). I assumed that it would be easier for PhDs, as it is in Israel, but I was wrong.
Second course of action is relocating through an Israeli IT company, something which I’ve been unsuccessfully attempting to find. The real turndown is that the companies that I write to seeking relocation positions sometimes offer me very attractive offers for positions in Israel that I feel as though I should be grateful for and accept, but can never bring myself to do it just now. I can’t even remember all the offers I rejected, and I hope that will not come back to haunt me.

Academic year in Israel is ending soon, and then there won’t even be any Chinese studies anymore. I hope I’ll figure out soon what’s next…
