Not very surprising, but I like to listen to Chinese/Taiwanese music lately, so Koish.com or Yekaroo.com are usually playing at the background while I’m in my room. Although we keep doing the same songs in Chinese class, I just can’t get enough of them, even the annoying ones.
I enjoy Chinese/Taiwanese rock bands, the cliche` popcharts, and even the occasional squicky Chinese Opera. I browse through some music blogs and I look up and translate lyrics every now and again. I don’t know, there’s something about the sound of Chinese, especially in a vocal melody, that calms me down. The things I mostly like doing lately, are those combining Chinese with music or movies. Can’t get enough of both.
The first time I met the Dorm boys was after my first Chinese class at the Hebrew University where they sang Fairytale, which I recognized from my time in Taiwan. I browsed the web for some flash version of the song, and ended up watching those guys. God, every song they do they just cracks me up, I can watch those guys endleslly in repeat mode.
