(Somebody has brought to my attention that I’ve now reached 5000 visitors. 5000 visits in a year that I’ve been writing this blog, which would probably make this the least visited blog site in history.
I’ve read this theory, that if you put up a one word page and tag it “Sex” with google, you’ll get around 10 thousand hits a year with automated tools that crawl sites and people ‘getting lost’. Which - if this theory is true - would mean that nobody ever reads this blog and even automated internet crawling robots and people ‘getting lost’ do their best to avoid coming here. :D)
Visited Countries was only setup as a tool to demonstrate some geeky techie stuff I was interested in, but - when I saw it and used it, I thought it was a neat idea.
Here’s the world map where red marks the countries I visited :
Naturally, this site doesn’t go into many details and makes a few shortcuts that makes it look like I traveled a whole lot more than I actually did.
The biggest deviations include : Covering all of China when I was only at small HongKong and covering up all Canada and Australia when I was actually always around a very limited area (and I also find it unfair that I was born in one of the smallest countries in the world, Israel doesn’t look very impressive on that world map, does it?).
The site has concluded that I visited 19 countries - which when considering total land-area - sum up to 8% of the world. 8 down, 92 to go 
(You gotta admit it’s a nice toy, isn’t it?)
