(This is to satisfy my academical research instinct. I know some of my MBA professors would be pleased.)
Every once in a while I take a small peak into who’s visiting my websites
Honestly, up till two months ago - it wasn’t that interesting. It was mostly friends and family from Israel, perhaps a few of my fellow travellers from around the world and the occasional frustrated HUJI MBA student looking for my study material. When things started out it seemed like I had a steady flow of about 15 daily anonymous. Occasionally, when I did take a look at the stats I couldn’t quite figure out what 15 people in Israel would be interested in me daily, since I’m not sure those 15 people were that interested in me when I was in Israel, but I accepted the fact that somebody - somebodies - are curious.
As my trip became longer, the Israelis started giving up on me and I got less and less visits. Maybe they were disappointed that I didn’t come back, maybe they just got bored with rereading the same old fiLi thoughts, donno.
So, a short decline over time, till the downfall of October with the dad-Australia trip. Is it possible that people have been thinking they might hear it all from me first hand when I get back on November? Maybe they were fed up? Beats me.
BUT, interesting thing is what’s been happening ever since I came to Taiwan. While my Israeli visits fell down to an alltime low I started getting loads of Taiwanese visits. I have no idea who those people are, and why they are interested in an Israeli’s blog about life in Taiwan, but seeing the country stats today has left me shocked :
And I’m just left to wonder - are those my Taiwanese friend’s? their friends? just some people who randomly found my blog somewhere? why do they keep coming back daily?
(Taiwanese folks are welcome to comment and share their thought on this one…
)
[Side note : If you wondered - self visits and revisits on same day/session are excluded from the stats]

Hey Fili! It’s me, WhatJ again. Just thought I’d comment again. Anyhow, I accidentally found your blog when I was looking for blogs about Taiwan/Taipei. I am fascinated with the country myself and plan on taking up my masters there in the near future (if some school is interested in me).
Anyhow, the reason I keep checking up on updates is because you write well. And it’s not only because you have interesting things to say. There is just something sincere and honest with your writing that makes it pleasant.
So I hope that answers your question. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though, and your talent.Ü By the way, I’m not Taiwanese, but I’m of Chinese decent living somewhere else. Hah!
Just keep on writing. I’m actually jealous of how much travelling you do! I would like to do that myself.
