One-two-go flight to Bangkok (1500) then a 2 hours local bus-ride to south-east Pataya (90). Lonely Planet said that I should stay away and just drive through, so I had to come here and see.
I arrived late at night and was completely utterly shocked by this place. If there’s a tourist hell then this is what it might look like. Giagentic pubs, huge clubs, super-fancy resturants, extremely loud music, many rich-fat-ugly-white folks with stuning thai-girls, countless dancers/whores, masses of drunk German-British-Russian people, sky-high prices. What a culture difference from the north.
Is this what the islands are like?! is this the Sex-Thailand everyone was talking about? arrrr…
I’m generally headed towards Ko-Samet but I got to ‘figure’ this place out first. I’ve never seen anything like this anywhere… but then again, I already know I’m too naive.
