Music

(blogger service has given me problems this past couple’o days. So I have some posts bundled up…)

My dad gave me this really neat 256 mega USB mp3 player to take along with me to the trip. The present, coupled with Daniel’s DVD burning of my entire Israeli/Trance mp3 collection gave me a cool way I could tour Thailand with all my music. There seems to be some demand for this music, maybe I should go commercial. The only problem is, I always need to decide which 3 albums I wanna take with me to the next ride. Making such decisions is hard, but it forces me to choose something I feel strongly about since I keep hearing the same music over and over again. For once – I actually have the time and energy to try and understand the whole meaning of the song.

This is what turned out the first time around:

DJ Tiesto – Just be, Taiwan version (Limited edition)
Doll House (Beit Habobot)
Archadi Duchin, Barry Shacharof and Ehud Banai – live acoustic performance at the Dead Sea (bootleg)

Second time around:
Offer Nissim – Searching (1st CD)
Eviatar Banai – Shir Tiyul
Traktor’s Revenge – Acoustic Kitchen

Since Erica had me translate some of these, I feel like translating some of’em for you guys (Yeah, there’s a lot of spare time in Pai). I know it’s gonna sound really bad, but fuck that, I like the meaning.

[Doll house, track 7 – A pencil song]

Don’t you ever forget to be happy for me
Don’t deny yourself crying if you’re down
Live life to its fullest, while you’re still naïve
Learn to let go, but don’t let go of your dreams.

Everything goes,
Learn from your mistakes and do better,
What your inner voice says, that’s your inner truth.
No, to forgive is not a weakness,
Cherish love your own way,
And know, all that surrounds you

Don’t take another person’s path
Don’t give in to the weakness of your body
Carry your bourdon with pride
And just believe, believe…

That…

Everything goes,
Learn from your mistakes and do better,
What your inner voice says, that’s your inner truth
No, to forgive is not a weakness
Cherish love your own way
And know, all that surrounds you

[All or nothing – Barry Sacharof]

With blind belief I walk on edge
Like a rolling stone that stands still
I will wait for you till the last smile

Maybe we’re two people
Talking in sign language
I call upon you to fight off your daemons

It’s all, or nothing,
I have no more strength
It’s all, or nothing,
I fall apart
Embracing the night through your loving arms
It’s all, or nothing,
I have no more strength
It’s all, or nothing,
I scream,
Embracing the night with my eager arms

Loneliness is razor sharp
It slices you from within
From our stormy fire,
Only shatters remain
I call upon you to fight off your daemons
