Backpacking and the chilledout layedback Pai

I don’t get it, but I do know they have somesort of a point. I know it’s true - I’m spoiled. I’ve only recently begun to understand what being a backpacker means, and it turns out I have real problem being one. Some folks I see around here struggle to get a 50 baht (5 shekels) cheaper guest house and are willing to reduce to some really crappy holes. This very friendly energetic Swedish girl we saw at the ShantiShanti was having a noodlesoup breakfast everyday from the 7-Eleven in order to save up a few baht so she could get some sort of Tattoo. Sally, an Australian gal that took a ride with us to Pai, couldn’t understand why …

Filinism – a masse for the masses (Opus 1)

The Principles of Filinism
Behold, the ones who live ordinary lives. Beware, for it is the truth and sacred secret that will be spoken to you by thee. As the Giladdah walked the Thai-yamana world with great humble and brave spirit, he pondered the true nature of humanoid existence. Inner power brought meaningful insight that will shake the face of the earth.

The whole truth is that there is no absolute truth. Truth is a feeling that comes from within.
Individualization means finding the right balance.
Everyone is guilty of having guilt, yet guilt should not be commonwealth.
Embrace acceptance, as you struggle to understand.
Hear none of the preachers; preach none to those who hear.
Seek being real, adopt your identities, know what is …

Music

(blogger service has given me problems this past couple’o days. So I have some posts bundled up…)

My dad gave me this really neat 256 mega USB mp3 player to take along with me to the trip. The present, coupled with Daniel’s DVD burning of my entire Israeli/Trance mp3 collection gave me a cool way I could tour Thailand with all my music. There seems to be some demand for this music, maybe I should go commercial. The only problem is, I always need to decide which 3 albums I wanna take with me to the next ride. Making such decisions is hard, but it forces me to choose something I feel strongly about since I keep hearing the same …

Pai

Yesterday, while writing the last blog, I’ve met Ericca - a sweet American girl that will be staying here for a year teaching English to the locals. We’ve spent yesterday night walking around the huge Sunday market, and we’re probably headed for Pai tomorrow. Categories : b-thailand b-pai b-erica

My first week at Chang-Mai

I had no idea it will be this difficult. I guess you have no idea that you’re such an addict till you’re been deprived of your addiction. It’s been hard, and I fought it all the way. It was a long battle with many wounded but I think I survived the inner pressure. Yeah, I admit it - I’m an Internet addict. Having only two half-hour internet sessions this week did strange things to my soul. Online… you have to get online. “It’s cheap here”, “You can get a free massage over there”, “You’re already at BeitChabad, so why not login? It has Hebrew…”. The horror, the bad dreams…it hunts you.

Mentioning addictions, there’s a more problematic one I can’t seem …

The Gilad-hiker guide ot the Thai-laxy (part 1)

Basic rules DON’T PANIC! (This is actually the only rule that really makes the Gilad-hiker guide much friendlier than the Encyclopedia-LonelyPlanetica).Always make fun of how other backpackers live, yet live exactly like one yourself.Tell others to explore-to take nothing for granted-and to experiment around, yet go only where others have recommended. Think about getting to know the real Thai-laxy, but spend all your time with tourists around shakes and massages.Act as though money here is no issue, yet count and argue over every Bhat like your life depend on it.They are Arsim, not us (right…)Find a less experienced bored backpacker to tell your whole trip story out to. It will me you feel like a Veteran, and hopefully indicate …
